Imagine a world where people are flourishing at work. Workplaces where people are invited and encouraged to bring their whole self, not just their best self to work.
Workplaces where love is welcomed and fear is booted out. This is not fantasy, it’s the reality we see and a movement that is gaining ground around the world.
People use a variety of words and labels for this movement. We call it HumansFirst because…well, it puts humans first. It’s about engaging people as “whole humans” and it’s a burgeoning movement with a growing number of practitioners and a growing body of literature and research to boot.
What if there was a global water cooler where you could gather with great minds and warm hearts from around the world for stimulating conversations exploring some of the key concepts and big ideas of what it means and what it takes to live, work, lead, and love HumansFirst?
That’s the idea behind the HumansFirst Book Club. It’s a community and a gathering where we swap stories, share ideas, and engage in conversations to inspires positive change and fuel growth.
For too many people in today’s world, leading and learning are done in isolation. You blow through a book quickly and are tempted to believe you’ve absorbed the ideas because you read, or listened to a book. Then, check it off the list and move on to the next one.
Hmmm, what if there’s a better way? A more HumansFirst way?
A way that encourages you to grow your understanding of what HumansFirst is all about while also increasing your commitment to living and leading in HumansFirst ways.
And at the same time, you develop relationships with other HumansFirst leaders? Plus be part of a forum where you can discuss your learning and share how you’re putting your learning into practice in the real world.
That and more are available to you when you join the HumansFirst Book Club.
Each month we will dig into a carefully-curated book exploring some facet of HumansFirst. You will receive a reading plan to keep you on track, participate in a live interactive discussion session each month (on Zoom) — several of those will include the author, and engage in weekly chats about we’re reading and what resonates with you.
The HumansFirst Book Club is designed to help you take action. Not only will you increase your understanding of all things HumansFirst, you’ll be encouraged to experiment and apply what you learn and share your results with a global network of amazing HumansFirst leaders.
You can join as a Founding Member of the HumansFirst Book Club. Founding Membership is limited to 50 members.
Imagine, being part of a diverse community of leaders all sharing a commitment and journey to a heightened way of being and working together. In time, ,onthly membership will be $32. However, Founding Members -- the first 50 to join the HumansFirst Book Club — pay only $25 per month and lock in that rate for as long as you maintain active membership.
*Membership fee does not include books.
I'm Kevin Monroe and I'm thrilled you're considering the HumansFirst Book Club. As a lifelong learner and host of The Higher Purpose Podcast, I'm always reading, learning, and enjoying rich conversations with authors and thought leaders. The HumansFirst Book Club is one way to extend those conversations and engage many more like-minded and like-hearted HumansFirst people into conversations. That's what led to launching the HumansFirst Book Club and serving as your guide on this amazing journey.
I hope you'll consider joining us.
This book club is also an opportunity for us to engage in conversations about all things HumansFirst and also a way to enjoy candid conversations with several authors and thought-leaders in the HumansFirst movement about a book they wrote or their favorite book on the subject. At least once a quarter we'll have a guest author or thought-leader join our monthly call to share their experiences and insights.
Here are a few of the books we'll read and discuss this year in the HumansFirst Book Club:
- The Evolved Executive: The Future of Work is Love in Action by Heather Hanson Wickman
- Brave Leadership by Kimberly Davis
- The Invisible Leader by Zach Mercurio
- Everybody Matters by Bob Chapman and Raj Sisodia
- Being Human by Mark Lebusque
- The Culture Code by Daniel Coyle
- Lead From the Heart by Mark C. Crowley
- Nice Companies Finish First by Peter Shankman

What Others Are Saying...
The world of work is in the midst of incredible change. Today, more than ever, we need leaders who are continuous learners and willing to explore and try new ideas. I’m a voracious reader and know it can feel daunting to stay on top of best practices, let alone find a group of incredible people to dive deeply into these new topics. I’m beyond excited to be a part of the HumansFirst Book Club. This is not only an opportunity to learn about cutting edge practices to build more human-first and loving organizations but the unique chance to be a part of a growing tribe of leaders committed to being the change they want to see in the world. ~ Heather Wickman, Author of The Evolved Executive: The Future of Work is Love in Action
You can see it and feel it. It's a growing movement spreading throughout the world of work and workplaces everywhere. A shift towards more human-centered work where truly human leaders are leading with love rather than fear. It excites me to see people joining together to learn from and with one another. That’s why I’m pumped about the HumansFirst Book Club — a unique way to explore all things HumansFirst in a virtual community that will equip and encourage you on your journey. Heck, you may even be joining your favorite authors on some of the live video calls. ~ Marcel Schwantes, Syndicated Columnist
As an author and a lover of all things HUMAN, I was excited to learn about the HumansFirst Book Club. It’s a brilliant way to keep us all focused on what is important. It is said that what you read today walks and talks with you tomorrow. This book club will help us be better humans!! ~ Heather R. Younger, J.D., author of The 7 Intuitive Laws of Employee Loyalty
